Halwa


An age old recipe for traditional halwa for those looking for a super sugar rush

Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp cardamom powder
1/2 tsp saffron
3 tbsp ground gum
4 tbsp ghee or butter

Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water

Boil together to make a syrup

Method

Heat butter and lightly brown the flour. Add cardamom and continue stirring till flour resembles sand color. Remove from heat add the syrup and stir. Put back on heat and continue cooking till mixture thickens. Add saffron and ground gum. Garnish with chopped nuts
